One of the things that sets the MRF apart from other cancer help sites
is the sense of community we share. In the forums below, patients help
each other find the resources they need to fight this battle and to
cope with the emotional stress a diagnosis of melanoma can bring.
- The
Bulletin Board
- One of the most
active pages on the MRF community portal is our message boards. Read by hundreds of
patients, caregivers and physicians each day, it is a forum for asking
questions, receiving answers and finding the support you need.
Chat Room
- The chat room
provides a place to interact with other community members in "real time".
The chat room is always available and hosted sessions are held many
times each week. Come to ask a question or simply to socialize with
your MPIP friends. Since chat room users are visible from the bulletin
board, one good strategy for "hooking up" with other chatters
is to check into the chat room while you're reading posts on the bulletin
board. It is likely someone will see you and join you. You must have
a java capable browser to use this feature.
-
Patient Registry (PatNet)
- PatNet is our
online patient database. Patients or their caregivers can anonymously
register their case history to share their experiences with others.
PatNet can be browsed or searched to find other patients who have
been through a therapy you are considering. PatNet records can also
be accessed from the chat room to make it easier for users to get
caught up on each other's case histories.
-
Patient's Perspective
- Inspriational
stories from the patient's point of view.
