I would do it again!

In February of 2000 I had an itchy yet normal looking mole removed. My PCP said it looked normal and my Dermatologist said it looked normal but he would remove it anyway. It was a Clark level IV Melanoma 2.8mm.

I opted to do the Interferon therapy for a year. I did not do the everyday for the first month part of it I just started with the three times a week. After a year at MY insistence all my tests were redone. It had spread to the lymph nodes under my right arm. I went to see Dr. Sewa Legha and some how by lots of prayer and believing the HMO I was in approved for him to treat me. I then went through probably close to the worst 4 months of my life. I did the bio-chemo therapy. Then I had all the lymph nodes (36) under that arm removed. The cancer had been killed by the therapy!!!! Yea God!!!!

It was hard, I was sick but it's been 2 years and no reoccurrence. Dr. Legha's prognosis is that there is a 90% chance that IT WILL NOT COME BACK. Yes it was very hard, I was sick for 4 months. But that is a short period in ones life.

I never once doubted that I'd be healed, I never once complained or even thought I might die. I prayed and I prayed and I knew without one doubt that this would be gone for good.

To all of you who are scared it's OK But don't let that fear consume you. Stay positive stress is not good with this disease.

God bless you all
