On the day Cindy was laid to rest, family and friends gathered to share our sorrow. We joined with melanoma patients around the globe in releasing balloons at an appointed time to symbolize Cindy's release from her struggle.
We invite you to read a few special poems that were shared at Cindy's memorial, the memorial tribute, and pictures of the balloon release.
A special thank you to the many kindred souls from the MPIP community who expressed their condolences.
The MPIP is dedicated to the continued struggle against the disease which took Cindy's life but could not conquer her spirit.
When my sister Cindy was first diagnosed in the fall of 1995, my husband Jeff started searching the internet to find out everything he could about this evil disease. Because we have family members scattered from coast to coast, he began putting everything he found on a web page so that everyone had access to the information. The search engines found this page and before long Jeff was getting email from other people asking for more information. He realized that a need existed for a site to organize the vast amount of information available from the web, and the MPIP was the result.
