In loving memory of Cynthia Dawn Blanc
June 16, 1955 - August 12, 1997
Cindy was my wife Lori's sister and my friend of thirty-eight years. The courage and determination with which she fought this horrible disease was an inspiration to all who knew and loved her. The following poem, written by her brother Rob, captures the feelings of loss and frustration at one being taken so young and who was loved and needed by so many.
| Death
never comes at a good time. |
| But
sometimes it visits before life is complete. |
| Steals
a wife, a mother, sister, daughter, friend. |
| and
we bang our angry fists on the floor |
| cry
and wonder what we might have done. |
| But
none of us has failed her, |
| just
as she never failed us. |
| And
there is much still to do now |
| Someone better make a list. |
